The NRA has developed a large range of resources to assist retailers managing the ban on lightweight plastic shopping bags.
As the ban is now in effect, we recommend that all Victorian retailers download, print & display some of the below signage in your store to ensure customers are aware that you can no longer provide lightweight plastic shopping bags.

FACTSHEET FOR BUSINESS
This factsheet provides the essential information about the ban and tips for businesses and supporting organisations (eg. shopping centres, local government, chambers of commerce).

It is recommended that all retailers download and print this double-sided sign to display in your store, in order to inform customers about the ban.
SIMPLE FACTSHEET - 12 LANGUAGES
This factsheet provides brief information about the ban in 12 commonly-used languages. Ideal for retailers or stakeholders within multicultural communities.

The Victorian Government will implement a state-wide ban on lightweight plastic shopping bags by November 2019.
The ban will apply to all retailers, including food businesses.
SPREAD THE WORD - Tools for retailers and community organisations -
Retailers of all types and sizes will face decisions over the next few months as they prepare for the Victorian bag ban.
If your organisation (such as a local council, chamber of commerce, shopping centre, or community group) has contact with local retail businesses, including food outlets and markets, you can help ensure businesses have the right information and advice they need.
Retailers can also help by ensuring businesses around you know about the ban and how to access help and advice.
